Ms. Reinette Roberts from Strubenvale Primary School teaches a lesson about Data handling to a grade 4 class. She begins her lesson by showing concrete examples of 2-D shapes and 3-D objects. This way the learners can also see the differences straight away. The representative activity involves using the DBE Workbook cut outs to make 3-D objects. Which the learners then use to identify the number of faces the 3-D object has. The surfaces are of these 3-D objects are also dealt with by either describing them as flat or curved surfaces. The learners are constantly interacting with the teacher and are encouraged to participate in the lesson.
