This lesson differentiates between factual and emotive texts on the subject of child support grants. If learners in your class are recipients of child support grants or know other children who are, ensure that learners discuss this topic with sensitivity. Before the lesson, get your learners to write a few neutral sentences so that you can check that understand what a neutral sentence is. They could than add an emotive word to each sentence and discuss how doing this alters the meaning in each case.
