The focus of this lesson is to summarise information that is to be written down for a particular purpose. This skill is useful in many different situations, such as taking notes in meeting and lectures, or writing your own study notes as you do research from books or on the internet. Also, the ability to summarise information for a particular purpose is often tested in exam questions. To provide learners with an opportunity to practise these skills, you may want to play an educational video and ask your learners to record the key ideas and then present them in the form of a poster or leaflet.
