In the fifth lesson, we look at parody and the different meanings a text can have. Learners may think that parody is a difficult concept to grasp if it is explained using parodies of literary texts as examples. This is because in order to find a parody humorous, you need to have some understanding of the original text on which the parody is based. Therefore, to supplement this lesson you may want to find additional examples of parody in familiar songs, fairytales or accessible literary examples.
