  • Lindsey-Ann From Cape Town

    Hello

I just want to thank you for the wonderful help! We lived in Abu Dhabi (UAE) for almost 5 years, and we moved to Cape Town about 3 months. I am currently in grade 10.

I was very stressed about the exams because entering a new school-not actually knowing what the South African school system required at all and having to catch up on all the work that was done earlier in the year. Life Science was especially worrying! (I missed topics 1-6) All though the new Via Africa CAPS textbooks are brilliantly done, I still struggled tremendously with getting all the theory in my head. I've managed to get a lot of help from one of my friends about the work, but the night before the exam I was still in tears, feeling very hopeless.

Then miraculously I discovered the LearnXtra videos on youtube! I can't explain to you how much I appreciated Kathy's videos! I also then decided that I want to learn not just for the sake of writing the exam, but to actually gain interesting information for myself. So I started to watch the videos-which I found so interesting, and learnt things which would've taken me ages to process with the book. Now I didn't want to stop 'studying'.

The next morning I woke up- continued playing the videos while I got ready, and had developed an entire new approach to the exam. During the exam I actually, physically smiled as I went through the questions. They asked things which I didn't even realize was important for the exams while I was watching kathy's videos- things which i merely found interesting! It doesn't really matter that much to me what my marks for this paper will be anymore, I just feel so happy and satisfied that I've managed to increase my personal knowledge! I'm not even stressed anymore about my other exams because I know now where to get valuable help.
